Psara
Psara
Psara is a small Greek island, centrally located in the North Aegean Sea. It is approximately 40 km2 in size and is located 18 km west of the island of Chios. It is a bare, rocky island where little or no agriculture takes place. Most residents are fishermen, farmers and there are also some beekeepers.
The capital of the island is the village of Psara with around 400 inhabitants. This is also the only village on the island. It is located in the southwest of Psara, on a narrow peninsula. Here is also the harbor where you can see many fishing boats and sailing boats. Here on the water is the village square and in addition there are a number of taverns, kafeneions and some mini-markets.
Psara is an island where time seems to have stood still. Even in high season it is not busy here. It is ideal for people looking for total peace.
