Kimolos
Kimolos
Kimolos is a small mountainous island north-west of Milos and southwest of Sifnos. The island is located 13 kilometers from the coast of Milos and is 39 square kilometers in size.
This island is slightly less touristy, but that does not mean that it is not beautiful. Indeed, there are very nice small sandy beaches where the peace reigns. Several times a year there are fun folk parties such as that of Profitis Ilias on July 20, Agios Panteleimon on July 27, Osia Methodias on October 5 and Taxiarchis on November 21.
The capital is also called Kimolos or rather Kimolos village (Chorió Kimolos), the locals call it Chora. 90% of the island’s population lives here. The white houses and the many flowers that are found here are striking. Beautiful beaches for swimming are those of Psathi and Kalamitsi.
